Learning with Design
Creating Effective Learning in the Social Age
Great learning comes about by design, not by accident. In the Social Age, everything about how we learn is changing. Impacted by technology and the role of communities, learning is more applied and needs to be better supported. It is time to explore our approach to learning design in this new world.
In this session, we will be exploring the notion of ‘Scaffolded Social Learning’. This is an approach to learning design that uses short, formal components alongside co-creative work within communities, facilitated by collaborative technology.
To design effective scaffolded social learning, we need to address several key elements like understanding the role of communities as ‘sense making’ entities in learning, explore how we form, guide and narrate the learning in this new world, and looking at the role of collaborative technology and understanding how it impacts our learning design.
