Terms And Condition
GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. REGISTRATION

Interested participants may register at the Early Bird Price and enjoy a 40% discount until 31 May 2020. Education institutions (higher educations, colleges, polytechnics, high schools, vocational institutions and colleges) are entitled to a 50% discount with valid student/teacher identification provided. The registration fee includes a copy of the Conference proceedings, all Conference sessions and exhibitions, as well as morning and afternoon tea breaks and lunches.

2. PAYMENT

All payments are to be made in Singapore Dollars. Price is inclusive of applicable Goods & Services Tax (GST). To take advantage of the early-bird discount, registration and payment must be received by 31 May 2020.

Payment can be made by any of the major credit cards, including AMEX, VISA and MasterCard via PayPal.
For payment by bank transfer, please quote the participant’s name, Conference’s name and invoice number when remitting payment. Bank charges should be borne by you or your participating organisation.. Please email your payment details (i.e. a copy of the remittance advice to contact@learntechconf.com.

3. CANCELLATION POLICY

Registration cancellations must be notified in writing by email to the LEARNTech Asia Conference Secretariat at contact@learntechconf.com. You must ensure you receive an acknowledgement of your cancellation from the Conference Secretariat Office to confirm your request has been received and processed. A full refund less a handling fee of SGD100 will be made for cancellations received in writing by 10 June 2020. Regrettably, no refund can be made for cancellations after 10 June 2020 or if you do not show up for the Conference. You will however receive a copy of the Conference proceedings. A replacement is encouraged if you are unable to attend the Conference after the confirmation of registration. Please inotify the Conference Secretariat in writing by email no later than 10 working days from the day of the Conference.

4. LIABILITY

LEARNTech Asia Conference and its Organiser, Kydon Holdings Pte. Ltd. (collectively referred to herein as “LTAC”, “us”, “we” or “our”) reserves the right to amend any part of the Conference programme if necessary, at any time. We will not accept liability for damages of any nature sustained by you, personal injury, death or loss of, or damage to your personal property as a result of the Conference or related events. In the event of industrial disruptions or other unforeseen circumstances, we accept no responsibility for loss of monies incurred by you..

5. DATA PROTECTION

We are committed to protecting the privacy of your’ personal information in line with the Singapore Personal Data Protection Act 2012.

Collection of Personal Information

We collect personal information such as your name, company’s name, designation, industry segment and contact details, directly from you through the online registration form submitted. We do not collect personal information about participants from other publicly available sources or via any other means. We also do not collect personal information when users browse the LTAC website.

Use of Personal Information

We only use your personal information for the purposes of registering you for the Conference and to update you with the latest information relating to this or future editions of this Conference. We will also compile a Participants’ List, which includes your name, company’s name, designation and industry segment. The Participants’ List has a facility that enables you to contact other participants via email (without revealing your email address) to make meeting appointments during the Conference. Apart from the above, we may also use the information you submit for related, internal management and statistical review purposes, although such analysis will be done on an aggregated basis.

We do not give your personal information to anyone else unless:

  • • you have given prior consent;
  • • you would reasonably expect your information to be passed on to the recipient as part of the provision of products or services to you ancillary to your registration for the Conference (e.g. to outsource the printing of name badges);
  • • it is required to comply with a court order or other legal process or legal requirements of any governmental authorities, including but not limited to the Monetary Authority of Singapore (“MAS’) and the Singapore Tourism Board (“STB”);
  • • it is in exceptional circumstances, such as a national emergency, security concern, or other such situation in which we, at our sole discretion, deem such disclosure to be prudent.
Your Access

You may access personal information that we hold about you, and you can ask us to correct your personal information, if necessary. If you are on one or more of our mailing lists, you may opt out of further contact by clicking the unsubscribe option in all our emails received by you.

Other Websites

For the convenience of users, the LTAC website contains links to certain third party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy policy of such third party websites. If you provide any information to such third parties, different rules regarding the collection and use of your personal information may apply. We strongly suggest that you review such third party websites’ privacy policy before providing any data to them.

Security

We deploy appropriate security technologies to safeguard your personal information against unauthorized access, misuse, disclosure, copying, alteration, accidental loss, theft, damage and destruction. Notwithstanding this, we cannot guarantee the security of any information that is disclosed online.

We are committed to protect the privacy of individuals and recognize the importance of the personal data you have entrusted to us and believe that it is our responsibility to properly protect, manage, process and disclose your personal data. As such, this Privacy Policy is to assist you in understanding how we collect, use and/or disclose your personal data.

We will collect, use and disclose your personal data in compliance with the Singapore Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (“Act”). In general, subject to applicable exceptions permitted in the Act, before we collect any personal data from you, we will notify you of the purposes for which your personal data may be collected, used and/or disclosed, as well as obtain consent for the collection, use and/or disclosure of your personal data for the intended purpose.

We may from time to time update this Privacy Policy to ensure that it is consistent with our future developments, industry trends and/or any changes in legal or regulatory requirements. Please check back regularly for updated information on the handling of your Personal Data.

Personal Data

In this Privacy Policy, “Personal Data” refers to any data or information, whether true or not, about you from which you can be identified either from that data; or from that data and other information to which we have or are likely to have access. Examples of such Personal Data which you may provide to us include but not limited to:

  1. your name, NRIC, passport or other identification number, telephone number(s), mailing address, email address and any other information relating to you which you have provided us in any forms you may have submitted to us, or in other forms of interaction with you;
  2. information about your use of the LTAC website, resources and/or services, including cookies and IP address but only to the extent that we may identify you from such information;
  3. your employment history, education background, and income levels;
  4. your payment related information, such as your bank account or credit card information and your credit history.

We shall treat your Personal Data as confidential and will accord due level of care in accordance with our Privacy Policy, and consistent with the Act.

Collection of Personal Data

Generally, we collect your Personal Data in the following ways:

  1. when you submit an application form or other forms relating to any of our products or services;
  2. when you register for or use any of our services on websites owned or operated by us or when you register as a member of websites owned and/or operated by us, or use services on such websites;
  3. when you interact with our agents, for example, via telephone calls, letters, face-to-face meetings and emails;
  4. when you use some of our services e.g. our subscription service;
  5. when you establish any online accounts with us;
  6. when you request to be contacted, included in an email or other mailing list;
  7. when you are contacted by, and respond to, our marketing representatives and agents;
  8. when you respond to our request for additional Personal Data, promotions or other
  9. when you submit a job application or any other application;
  10. when we receive references from business partners and third parties, for example, where you have been referred by them;
  11. when you submit your Personal Data to us for any other reason.

When you browse the LTAC website, you generally do so anonymously but please see the section below on cookies. We do not automatically collect Personal Data at our website unless you provide such information or login with your account credentials.

If you provide us with any Personal Data relating to a third party (e.g. information of spouse, children, parents, employees and/or authorized representatives), by submitting such information to us, you represent to us that you have obtained the consent of the third party to you providing us with their Personal Data for the respective purposes.

You should ensure that all Personal Data submitted to us is complete, accurate, true and correct. Failure on your part to do so may result in our inability to provide you with products and services you have requested.

Purpose for the Collection, Use & Disclosure of Personal Data

Generally, we collect, use and disclose your Personal Data for the following purposes:

  1. responding to your queries, feedback, complaints and requests;
  2. resolving complaints and handling requests and enquiries;
  3. managing the administrative and business operations of LTAC and complying with internal policies and procedures;
  4. facilitating business asset transactions (which may extend to any merger, acquisition or asset sales) involving any of the Companies;
  5. matching any Personal Data held which relates to you for any of the purposes listed herein;
  6. verifying your identity;
  7. preventing, detecting and investigating crime, and analyzing and managing other commercial risks;
  8. protecting and enforcing our contractual and legal rights and obligations;
  9. conducting audits, reviews and analysis of our internal processes, action planning and managing commercial risks;
  10. preventing, detecting and investigating crime;
  11. compliance with any applicable rules, laws and regulations, codes of practice or guidelines or to assist in law enforcement and investigations by relevant authorities; and/or
  12. any other purpose relating to any of the above
Disclosure of Personal Data

We will take reasonable steps to protect your Personal Data against unauthorized disclosure. Subject to the provisions of any applicable law, this Personal Data may be disclosed, for the purposes listed above (where applicable), to the following:

  1. our related agencies and employees so as to serve you in a most efficient and effective way;
  2. our vendors or third party service providers in connection with marketing promotions and services offered by us or our preferred partners;
  3. our professional advisors such as our auditors and lawyers;
  4. relevant government regulators or authorities or law enforcement agencies to comply with any laws or rules and regulations imposed by any governmental authority; and

Request for Access, Correction and/or Withdrawal of Personal Data

Kindly note that if your Personal Data has been provided to us by a third party, you should contact such party directly to make any queries, feedback, and access and correction requests to us on your behalf.

Kindly note that if you withdraw your consent to any or all use of your Personal Data, depending on the nature of your request, we may not be in a position to continue to provide our products or services to you or administer any contractual relationship in place, and this may also result in the termination of any agreements with us and your being in breach of your contractual obligations or undertakings, and our legal rights and remedies in such event are expressly reserved.

This Terms of Use Agreement (the “Agreement”) governs your use of the collection of web pages (the “website”) and other proprietary digital content (the “resources”) available through the LEARNTech Asia Conference (“LTAC”). Access to the LTAC website is provided to LTAC participants and non participants so that they can learn more and receive access to LTAC resources, register for LTAC events/programs, and interact with other LTAC participants and non participants. We may provide you with a password to access certain resources, provided that you complete any required application process and provide accurate information in your registration information. You may use your password only to access the website in ways consistent with this Agreement — no other access to or use of the LTAC website or resources is authorized. Further, you agree not to re-circulate or otherwise distribute your password to other people or organizations or to copy offsite any part of the LTAC resources without written permission. Please report any unauthorized use of your password promptly to contact@learntechconf.com. You acknowledge that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy and agree that we may collect, use, and distribute information pursuant to that policy. If you post comments or opportunities to us through the LTAC website, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free right to use that content.

USE OF WEBSITE AND WEBSITE CONTENT

The content displayed on the LTAC website, including but not limited to the design, images, illustrations, graphics, photography, text and audio and video clips, if applicable, are owned, licensed to, or used with permission of third parties by us, unless otherwise noted. Such content is subject to copyright, trademark, trade dress and other intellectual property rights owned by us, or authorized for use by us on this website.

The content on this website is intended for personal, non-commercial use only. No authorization is given to reproduce, modify, publish, distribute, transmit, download or create derivative works from any content on this website except as specifically permitted in these Terms of Use, without written permission from us.

If you post comments or opportunities on the LTAC website, you agree to grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free right to display and use this content.

You agree that we may contact you from time to time with surveys or other questions regarding your opinions about and uses of this website, as well as with information we believe may be of interest to you. In addition, we request that, according to standard academic practice, if you use the LTAC resource or website for any research that results in an article, a book, or other publication, you list the LTAC resource or website as a resource in your bibliography.

TERMINATION

We may immediately terminate this Terms of Use Agreement at any time upon written notice (including via email) to you if we determine, at our sole discretion, that any of these Terms of Use have been violated. Upon termination, you agree that we may immediately deactivate any password it has issued to you and bar you from accessing the LTAC resources.

DISCLAIMERS

We do not guarantee or warrant that the content available on the LTAC website or in the LTAC resources is accurate, complete, non-infringing, or legally accessible in your jurisdiction, and you agree that you are solely responsible for abiding by all laws and regulations that may be applicable to the viewing of the content. In addition, the resources are provided to you on an as-is and as-available basis. You agree that your use of the website or resources is at your sole risk. You understand and agree that we make no warranty or representation regarding the accuracy, currency, completeness, reliability, or usefulness of the content in the resources, that the website or resources will meet your requirements, that access to the resources will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, or that defects, if any, will be corrected. INDEMNIFICATION

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

Under no circumstances, including, without limitation, negligence, shall we or our parents, affiliates, officers, employees, or agents be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from or in connection with the use of or the inability to use the LTAC website or resources, or any content contained on the website or in the resources, or resulting from unauthorized access to the resources or your transmissions of data, including, without limitation, damages for loss of profits, use, data, or other intangibles, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Some jurisdictions do not allow the limitation or exclusion of liability for incidental or consequential damages, so some of the above may not apply to you.

This Agreement, the Privacy Policy, and other policies posted on the LTAC website constitute the full and complete agreement between you and us and are not intended to insure third-party beneficiaries.
